Last week, my mom asked when you read your book, are you understand anything. I was very scared when my mom asked that. On the next day, Mr. Arunski teaches us about how we can understand more about our book. He taught me about the summaries, inference, prediction, questioning tower, visualization. I am thinking about it every day I am on my way home. In the afternoon my mom asks do you understand the book. I use the reading strategies and combine to explain how I understand about the book. My mom was very surprise.
The reading strategies help me a lot. It helps me understand more by what is the story happen in the future, summaries what happen in the story that you read. For instance “ Phoney is very annoying and lazy. he eats the cake that the girl make for grandma. she is very angry at him.” I usually don’t like reading at all but when Mr. Arunski teaches me about the reading strategies and I find out that reading is very interesting to me and i think i would use inference. this is “ Phoney can’t find a way back to Boneville. Evidence: “ Phoney is too small and he very scare of weird place. In inference, we have to use evidence to prove wether it is wrong or right. When I am reading book, I am starting to think about how would a character change after a scene. A respectation: “ When Fone is being chased by two rat creatures, and he very scarce until he meets his cousin Smiley. They start to panic and don’t know what to do.” I am using the reading strategies to figure out. When I am reading my book, I am very excited about what will happen in the future by using prediction and evidence to prove it right or wrong. For example: prediction “Phoney will put the Mystery cow into a race”. Evidence: “He makes Smiley pretend as a Mystery cow.”
It make me more understand and gain more education about in the book. For example: “ when I don’t know reading strategies I understand 80% of the book and now I can understand understand 90% of a book.”
